Introducing a cutting-edge 3D Vein Viewer module that revolutionizes peripheral IV Intra-Venous access for pediatric and geriatric patients. Our device not only images the peripheral vein mapping underneath the human skin but also accurately determines the depth of the vein vessel from the top of the skin with micro-meter precision.
Our patented integration of Mie-Scattering with imaging provides a maximal likelihood estimate of the depth of the vein, while Near Infrared Radiation (NIR) penetrates deeper into tissues to provide 2D images of the subcutaneous vascular network. Our in-vivo optical coherence tomography (OCT) based mapping of the skin takes into account physiological variations such as skin tone in the population. With these state-of-the-art optical technologies combined, our proposed vein locator is a single compact, mobile device that will reduce the number of false trials and multiple needle penetrations during IV therapy. This innovative device will help medical staff to minimize bruising and damage for patients, especially infants and the elderly, ensuring a comfortable and painless experience during IV therapy.
